Why Spanish?

My mom was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s a few months ago.  It has rocked our world to say the least.  When we first started suspecting that this was happening I started doing some research.  One of the things that came up consistently was that learning a foreign language can help ward off this ugly disease.  I immediately told my husband and son that we were going to learn Spanish together.  Meanwhile, in my professional life I was laid off from my job, due to a company restructuring.  (I am still a huge advocate of microcurrent as an anti aging tool and promote @mynuface all the time).  I’m having a challenge finding another job, I am a successful sales & education rep with a Master Esthetician license, but I DO NOT HAVE MY Bachelors Degree.  I am ONE specific course away from completing it.  Guess what that specific class is?  You are got it… 3rd year Spanish!

All that leads up to me needing to FINALLY take that dang class.  There is simply no way I can just walk into a 3 year Spanish and think I could bumble my way through. So here I am taking Speed Spanish 1 trying to play catch up so I can take that online Spanish 3 in January… it is SO HARD!  It has been 30+ years since I’ve taken a Spanish class.  I am here to tell you, that vocabulary is not easy to remember. I’m making myself flash cards to keep in the car so I can practice at stop lights or while I’m waiting for the kiddo.

The lesson I’m learning in this.  Funny how things all work together and it is NEVER to late to get that degree.  Just hoping those awesome opportunities are still out there when I’m done and have that degree!

Have a great week and go out and so something you’ve been wanting to do! It’s not too late!
